Caring Community Spay/Neuter Assistance Program
The Caring Community Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (CCSNAP) provides assistance to spay and neuter companion animals of local families needing financial support. In 2020 alone, Noah’s Ark subsidized 1,150 surgeries for area dogs and cats whose owners lacked the resources to do so.
Participating veterinarians provide the surgeries with the cost shared by CCSNAP and the pet owner.
CCSNAP is open to residents of Jefferson County, Iowa, who meet program guidelines. Periodically as funding permits, residents of Davis, Keokuk, Wapello, Van Buren, and Henry counties may apply. If you reside in one of these counties you can request assistance by calling CCSNAP at 641-472-6080 or sending us an email. Residents of Washington County can contact PAWS & More Animal Shelter at 319-653-6713. If you do not reside in one of these 6 Iowa counties, contact Spay Iowa or the Iowa Humane Alliance.
Since its inception in 2001 through 2020, CCSNAP has helped to spay and neuter more than 12,842 community cats and dogs. This is in addition to all shelter dogs and cats, who since 2006, are altered prior to adoption.
