Below are just a few of the volunteer opportunities we currently have available.

Cat Socializers
Cat Socializers fill our cats’ world with fun and playtime! Volunteers are encouraged to enrich the cats staying at the shelter through petting, brushing and playing with toys like cat dancers. These interactions help the kitties develop into happy house cats!

Available shifts are during adoption hours. A commitment of at least 1 hour each week is required.

Feline Kennel Assistant
Our Kennel Assistant volunteers provide hands-on care to the animals, ensuring that the shelter living environment remains safe, clean and as comfortable as possible. Feline Kennel Assistants aid the shelter staff with daily cleaning chores, feeding and helping the adoptable cats and kittens with socialization.

Available shifts are Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 - 11:00 AM. A commitment of at least 1 hour each week is required.

Dogs
Dog walking is a great way for dogs to get some exercise, but also enriches their day socially. Our dog walkers help them get out of their kennels for some excellent one-on-one time with people.

Available shifts are during adoption hours and Tuesday through Friday 10:00 AM - noon. A commitment of at least 1 hour each week is required.

Blanket Makers
What dog or cat wouldn’t love a nice soft homemade blanket to snuggle on in their kennel? Fleece is the fabric of choice and 22” x 22” is a great size!

Helpers
Noah’s Ark benefits from folks within the community and abroad who donate their time, talent and experience to help the shelter. Do you have a skill and a little time that you would be willing to donate to Noah’s Ark? Are you a plumber, a computer person, a grant writer?

Helpers can also assist the shelter by performing routine maintenance and repairs. Experienced helpers with landscaping and yard work are also needed. People best suited for this opportunity are individuals experienced with home repairs, maintenance and yard work.

Helpers can assist with cleaning chores such as sweeping, mopping, emptying the trash, washing windows and baseboards, filling and emptying the dishwasher, doing the laundry and filling Kong toys for the dogs.

Available shifts are during adoption hours and Tuesday through Friday 10:00 AM - noon. A commitment of at least 1 hour each week is required.

Photographers/Videographers
Photographers and videographers help people visiting our website to get the most out of their experience. These special volunteers focus on helping our animals, by taking pictures or creating 1 to 2 minute videos that highlight each animal’s personality as well as the benefits of adopting from Noah’s Ark. The shelter camera is available for use.

Available shifts are during adoption hours. A commitment of at least 1 hour each week is required.

Poster Distributors

Poster Distributors help spread the word about Noah’s Ark by distributing posters of available animals and upcoming events to area businesses. These posters enable the community to see bright and attractive posters highlighting the animals as well as informing them of upcoming fundraisers, volunteering orientations, clinics and more.

Postering is completed depending on your schedule and a list of businesses that allow posters is provided.

CCSNAP Phone Responder
CCSNAP (Caring Community Spay Neuter Assistance Program) approves low-income clients through phone calls they return from home or the shelter. This opportunity is ideal for volunteers who want to help, but are unable to come to the shelter.

Individuals are required to check phone messages one day each week and return calls, normally 1-2 hours per week.
