Max's Story...

Hi Shayla,

I just wanted to let you know that Max (f/k/a Silas) is doing great in his new forever home! I have to say, in a very short time, both Denis and I have become quite attached to him. He is the sweetest puppy, and very smart as well. He still has the puppy in him, but we have been working with him and he is learning quickly. The biggest surprise (and relief) is that he was house and kennel trained within a few weeks of coming to us. He will even ring the bell on the door when he wants to go outside. And at night before going to bed, or when we leave sometimes during the day, when we say "kennel up," he goes right in his kennel with no problems. We couldn't have asked for a better dog from an animal shelter.

He is truly a mellow little pup and I am so grateful for that. And just recently, he has become quite a "couch puppy." He loves to lay on the couch, which is just fine with us. We also bought him a bed to lay next to us on the floor when we're watching TV at night. He also loves to go for car rides, which he has done quite a few times. I just want to thank you for taking such good care of him while he was waiting to be adopted by us. I was so sad to lose my dog Brody when his mom came back from the Peace Corps, but thank heavens we got Max, because I would have been very, very sad not to have a sweet boy like him to take care of. I am attaching a few pics of Max to let you know how comfy he is here.

Thanks again so much for taking care of Max while he was waiting for us!

P.S. We took him to our vet on Monday (just so he could meet him) and we were really surprised to find that he weighs almost 40 pounds! But he is healthy and everything is okay. Oh, another thing - we have been walking him a lot, and he does so well on the leash! Denis has trained him well! And one last thing - we get comments from almost everyone on our walks about how pretty his markings are and they want to know what kind of dog he is. So you were right - he was the BEST of the litter! :) Thanks again!!
