Max's Story...

Good Afternoon Ashley,

I just thought I'd send an update on "Max" and how he's doing. We've actually renamed him Bear, which he seems partial to and answers to it. He's still doing absolutely wonderful. We are so blessed to have him!! We're lovin' that he's potty trained and so great with the kids, let alone being fun to play with for us.

We made a final addition to our family last weekend by adopting one more rescue pup and now our family is complete. Bear now has a 10 week old brother, which he loves to play with. You had mentioned that he's not so good around males his size, so we figured if he's got a pal that starts out small then he should be fine, which he is and loves the little guy. They get along great and keep each other entertained very well. Bear hasn't shown any jealousy, since we all make sure that someone is lovin' on both by taking turns. And during play time, we're all involved in the romping and jumping around the house. Luckily, Bear hasn't regressed in his potty training even though little pup, Joey, is only half way there. Bears a wonderful big brother example!! : o )

He had his first bath with us over the weekend, which he absolutely needed. : o ) We didn't want to do it before now, because we didn't want to freak him out while he was still adapting to his new home and plus it has been way to cold outside for being wet under his fur. Yesterday was a beautiful day, much warmer than its been, so I knew that when he'd go out for a potty break, he wouldn't be hating the chill. I can't say he was thrill to get into the tub, it took my husband and me both to do it. We have those sliding doors for the shower, so I had to hop in there first while Ben lifted him to try to get him in. Bear was using each leg to grip against the wall, tub, or door to try to fight getting in, boy he's stubborn!! : o ) But finally the group effort worked and we got him in with me and shut the doors. He was much more mellow once he was in. I think he knew it was inevitable by then. My clothes I was wearing were pretty much soaked by the end of the bath though, since he's such a big guy and when he shakes off the water its like a monsoon! : o ) When Bear got out, he was so energetic. He was running around up and down stairs, maybe that was his way of getting dry?!? He liked being brushed and pampered, plus all the extra snuggling once he smelt and felt so clean and soft.

Well I just wanted to give you all a quick update. I'll try to get in and get all the pictures I've taken developed to send along with my next update. Thank you so much again for our great 'little' boy that you've added to our family (not so little in size, but young at heart) !! Ben, the kids and I couldn't have asked for a better pup!!

Have a wonderful day,
Misty Taylor
