Local directions - from Burlington Avenue and North 9th Street
From West Burlington Avenue (Highway 34), go North on 9th Street (at Family Video). Travel approximately 8 tenths (0.8) of a mile to W. Gear Avenue. (Before you come to Gear Ave., you will go over a railroad track.) Turn West onto W. Gear Avenue. Travel approximately 7 tenths (0.7) of a mile to the Noah's Ark Animal Foundation shelter. From Highway 34 on the western edge of Fairfield, go North on Brookville Rd. (at Ford dealership). Travel approximately 8 tenths (0.8) of a mile to W. Gear Avenue (County Rd. H35). (Shortly before you come to Gear Ave., you will go over a railroad bridge.) Turn East onto W. Gear Avenue. Travel approximately 8 tenths (0.8) of a mile to the Noah's Ark Animal Foundation shelter. Our shelter is open:
Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00–4:00 for shelter visits and meeting animals. If you would like to visit us outside our regular hours, please call us at 641-472-6080 to schedule an appointment.

An adoption counselor is available during most shelter open hours. If you are traveling some distance to Fairfield and desire a "same day" adoption, please call us in advance to set up an appointment. Our Cat Adoption Application and Dog Adoption Application (in PDF format) can be completed at the shelter or mailed to us. Adoptions will be completed once the application is processed and the health and medical work is current for the cat or dog you wish to adopt.
